Filter press

A filter press is a tool used to separate solids from liquids in the filtration process using pressure. This tool consists of a series of plates covered with filter cloth and arranged in a frame. This process is common in the chemical, food and beverage, mining, and waste processing industries.

The way it works starts with filling liquid containing solid particles into the space between the filter plates. The plates are sealed to prevent leaks. High pressure is then applied to the liquid, forcing the liquid to pass through the filter cloth while solid particles are retained and form a "cake" on the surface of the cloth. Once most of the liquid has been separated, the pressure is increased to remove any remaining liquid from the cake. Once the process is complete, the filter plates are opened one by one and the cake is removed from the filter cloth.

Filter presses are very efficient at separating solid particles from liquids, producing a very clear filtrate. It can be used for a wide range of liquids and solids, from corrosive chemicals to food, and reduces operating costs in the long term due to its high reliability.

Filter presses are used in a variety of applications, including the chemical industry for chemical separation, water and wastewater treatment for wastewater and sludge treatment, the food and beverage industry to separate solids from liquids in the production of juices and oils, as well as in mining to separate minerals from ores.
